One of my ever so fabulous roomies is too funny. She has a high-end corporate job that has her traveling all the time. Although she lives here, I never know when I am going to see her. I actually keep up with her according to her ridiculously hilarious gmail chat away messages. Anyways, nothing that she does ever ceases to amaze me. A few weeks ago she strolled in here with ultra long and luxurious lashes. They were really cute and were not over the top. False lashes can add density to your lash line and open up your eyes. I think these would be cute for your birthday, a wedding, and any other special occasion. Maybe even for everyday but I don’t think that would be healthy for your real lashes. A professional is probably the best way to go for your first time but if you do want to try it at home some tips are below…

Lashes when applied properly can really look fab. I remember my first experience with them. I liked them at first, but by the end of the night and in pictures, I felt like I looked like a drag queen! I think less is more when it comes to lashes, they should be somewhat subtle. Your roomie’s always look really natural. I remember seeing her recently and thinking how great she looked and how there was something a little different about her. It wasn’t until I asked her what was different that she told me she had on fake lashes. They really should enhance your beauty like hers did, not dominate it!

Can you wear false lashes if you wear glasses? I would wear false lashes for special occasions. Solange has been sporting some interesting eye make-up…or eye something lately. I like it!

I too had the chance to see your roomie’s lashes recently and loved them! I only have gotten lashes once - for New Years Eve 2008. When I look at pictures I really like the way it made my eyes look and I think it just takes your outfit to another level. However, I remember being completely conscious of them the whole night and by the next morning I practically yanked them off! haha. So - I think the points your brought up Ally are exactly right - they should be natural and make sure your shop around and get the right kind so they not only LOOK natuaral but FEEL natural too!

I’m not a girly girl, but it’s funny seeing this post and also catching an episode of TLC’s “10 Years Younger” show this week. One of the things they did for a lady was to add false eyelashes to help accentuate her eyes. It was the first time I ever thought about it after seeing the dramatic difference it made for her. Perhaps I will try it sometime for a special occasion. Thanks for sharing.
