SHE-BLOGS PHOTO SHOOT

VINTAGE CHIC by Chris Law

Vintage chic are the best two words to describe this beautiful look. Our model is dressed in a beautiful 3⁄4 sleeve slate blue and chocolate brown plaid overcoat. This outerwear piece has a self belt and over-sized collar that is meant to be popped. Underneath the coat is a champagne colored satin dress that is slightly longer than the coat. This is done to give a vintage feel. Finally, the outfit is completed with a flower hat and tan suede oxford style pumps.
Both of these fabulous looks can be bought at the Anavaa Kisasa boutique on 555 Metropolitan Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

PURPLE UP THE VOLUME by Chris Law
This is a beautiful voluminous sleeve blouse with a functional tie bow that can be tied to the front or either side. This fabulous imperial purple blouse is the perfect addition to your wardrobe. It is beautifully coupled with a brown herringbone sailor front pencil skirt with non functional buttons. A vintage inspired brooch and brown Charm earrings from the Ally Marie collection complete this ultra chic look.

CELEB PROFILE: KID SISTER

        • Child’s Play BY Arlice Nichole

Funky fresh dressed to impress ready to party is what I think when I see Kid Sister step out in her punch colored, freestyle fashion. Her sense of style brings to mind a little sister who has raided your jewelry box putting on everything from your painted wooden bangles to your giant Kool-Aid shade hoop earrings. While she pops bubble gum admiring herself in the mirror, singing a song that only she knows, with an expression on her face that says “this is why I’m hot!” Unafraid of color, Kid Sister is all about eye-popping style from her signature done up nails to her jewel tone toes. Her taste says it’s her land and she’ll rule it her way. Kid Sister rocks anything from boho brights to classic menswear, but not without bringing out the kid in it all.

(Los Angeles, CA) In the spirit of creativity, and with a passion to help the less fortunate, two young, successful, international models have launched their own online modern art collective, Feedamodel.com. Initially an outlet for self-expression and a means to find sanity in the jet set world of fashion, four friends from different cities got together for drinks to decompress from their lives and connect with each other by simply painting for enjoyment. These weekly “Art Nights” evolved into the passion project, Feedamodel.com.

The inspired minds behind this project are Apple Price from VUE Agency and Michelle Easter with Next Model Management. Their desire to create is matched by their desire to give back, as a portion of all proceeds from their art are donated to a generous list of charities.

Included in that list is Operation Smile, an organization which has special meaning to Michelle. Born with a soft palate cleft, Michelle wants to send a message of comfort to kids that you can still be healthy, beautiful and extremely successful. By donating a portion of their proceeds to the organization, Feedamodel.com hopes to provide those in need of this procedure, the medical opportunities and resources available today. This is just the beginning of a business endeavor that will benefit charities ranging from the ASPCA to The Boys & Girls Club of America.

Feedamodel.com showcases the art of numerous talented, high fashion models whose artwork shows shades of Rauschenberg, Pollock and Basquiat. Similar to Andy Warhol’s Superstars who worked and hung out at The Factory, these models spend their days expressing themselves through art. While working to become the next Giselle, their message is to inspire their audience to have fun and share in their own creativity, as they generate a small income to help themselves as well as others.

ARE YOU A RECESSIONISTA?

Who says you can’t be fabulous even during scary economic times. Being a recessionista means being fab on a smart budget. That doesn’t mean you can’t splurge ever, it just means that you have to get what you can afford….SCARY I know ladies this thought is scary.

Steps to Staying Fab during the bailout… ;)

Beauty: Ok for you ladies who are at the hair and nail salon every week you may want to slow your roll. I am not saying don’t go but just do it in moderation. Maybe in between visits try washing your hair or doing your nails yourself. And if you don’t know how to do your nails or your hair please learn because it’s good to know how to take care of yourself anyways just in case there is a beauty emergency.

Shoes: Sighhhhhhhh. I love shoes. No seriously when I see a pair of shoes that are absolutely gorgeous I always say that if they asked for my hand in marriage I would really consider it. Yes shoes are a woman’s best friend but we may have to let some of those friends stay in the stores. Being smart during these financial times means buying really cute basics. A sandal, a cute skinny wedge, and some sort of peep toe pump for spring is all you need. LOL Anything else should wait until we get a stimulus check or a tax cut or something.

Clothes: Accessories can be your best friend this season. Buying some basic clothing looks and loading up on cute belts, jewels, brooches, scarves, and 40’s inspired head bands will look glam and also keep your wallet heavy.

Xoxo Ally
