She is inspiring (Tweety Elitou)

Happy Monday!!

Like Aaliyah said “Age ain’t nothing but a number”. That definitely holds true for Tweety Elitou. Tweety is one of the youngest Fashionista’s in the industry and she is taking it by storm. This driven, amazing, brilliant young lady is only 14 YEARS OLD with her own online TV show, soon to be book, and many many other things.
I first came across her site early one morning after a friend of mine had forwarded me the link. As I watched in awe, I said to myself I am beyond proud of her and must get her on the blog. At only 14 she has managed to start her career and nothing is going to stop her. She really does inspire me.
Here is her story!
Thanks again Tweety,
Xoxo
Ally

She-blogs: What is your full name and how old are you?
Tweety: My name is Tweety Elitou and I am now 14 years old.

She-blogs: Who is Tweety?
Tweety: “Who is Tweety?” that is a really good question. Tweety, of course, is a budding fashionista extraordinaire. I am a Native American that was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. I am a daughter and sister. I host my own show, “Young, Hip & Chic”, and I love to meet people and have fun.

She-blogs: What projects are you currently involved with or working on?
Tweety: Well, I have been doing a lot lately but here are some of the things I am working on now. I am, of course, working on my show and Blog, YHC. I am in the process of getting my book published by one of the hottest publishing services, Neshee Publication. I am working on my new show “Fashionista Files”, but I will tell you more about that when it is complete. I am hosting several events this month, and I will be in NY for Fashion Week interviewing celebrities on the Red Carpet at a few off-tent locations. I can just go on and on, but to learn more about what I’m going to do, check out my blog!

She-blogs: Tell me about your webisode and what was your inspiration for starting it?

Tweety: My webisode is called “Young, Hip & Chic” and it is a fun way of expressing my thoughts on fashion while educating people about the ever-changing trends in the fantastic fashion industry. My inspiration for the show was my little sisters. I would watch shows like TMZ, Extra and many others and they would constantly show young celebrity women that were not wearing undergarments and dressing very provocative. It felt like they were not so lady like and that trend was being pushed on us because of the constant coverage. I don’t think they are good role models. I was challenged by my mom to do something about it, and here I am.

She-blogs: What do you love the most about the world of fashion?
Tweety: The thing I like most about the fashion is the art. I like to see what people are expressing in their lines. I also like taking what I see and making it my own.

She-blogs: Were you always interested in fashion?

Tweety: Yes, I have always been interested in fashion! I first became interested when I found out what clothes were. When I was three, I would ask my mom if I could have this red shirt to match with this pair of jeans. I would even dress myself!

She-blogs: Do you have tips for someone who may want to break into the fashion/tv world?
Tweety: My tip for someone that is trying to break into this fast pace industry is to keep going until you reach your goal. Don’t let anyone discourage you, just because one says no doesn’t mean that another won’t say, “YES! You’re the one I’ve been looking for!” Plus always have family near by. That’s how I became what I am now.

She-blogs: Where can people view your show?

Tweety: You can check out my show at: www.youtube.com/younghipchic or my blog www.younghipchic.blogspot.com. I am hoping to be syndicated so if anyone wants to add my show to their fashion Blog/website, let me know! ?

She-blogs: Tell me about the inspiration for your book?

Tweety: Well the inspiration for my book, “Girl Power” is firstly my little sisters because I want them to be the best young ladies they can be, and the only way they will know to do that is to be educated. Also, it seemed like a lot of young women were losing themselves on the path to womanhood and I wanted to be the peer that steered them in the right direction. The information that is on every page comes from my elders.

She-blogs: I heard that you get straight A’s in school. How do you balance your school life and your entertainment life?
Tweety: That’s a good question. Well I spend a lot of time studying from 9am-2pm since I’m home schooled. After that I am free to study fashion, sew, write scripts, tape, etc.

She-blogs: Name one place that you have never been that you want to travel to and why?
Tweety: I want to go to Hawaii because I love beaches. Plus between you and me, I do not like the cold. ?

She-blogs: What is your mantra on life?
Tweety: My mantra is “Thank you, Great Spirit” because he keeps me and my family on the right path.

She-blogs: Who inspires you?
Tweety: Well both of my parents really inspire me. My dad inspires because he is a go-getter and nothing stops him. My mom inspires me because she is so supportive of me, if it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t even know anything about…well…anything.

She-blogs: When was the last time you laughed so hard you couldn’t breathe?

Tweety: I’m not really sure since I laugh hard A LOT! I think it would have been when I was watching “Everybody Hates Chris” and the mom thought her husband was cheating on her. Her eye was twitching, she was reading a book on guns, she had the song “It’s a Thin Line between of Love and Hate” playing in the background… It was hilarious!!!

She-blogs: What do you like most about the way you look?

Tweety: That it belongs to me!!!
