She is beauty (Stress bath)

NATURAL REMEDIES FOR STRESS

Hello ladies,

Lately I have been really bogged down with things to do. I feel like my “to do” list just keeps growing and growing and growing and things aren’t getting checked off fast enough. My energy level has been low and my stress level has been high even though I don’t “feel” stressed. It’s funny because the more I learn about diet, rest, and alternative medicine, the harder it becomes for me to follow what I know. I am on a constant search for peace, balance, and a healthier more productive existence.

My current work schedule doesn’t allow me to be home early enough to take care of me so I decided that I was going to do a relaxing late night detox bath. I have used a mustard detox soak before and I liked it but this time I wanted to make my own little concoction. After work I went to whole foods and bought lavender leaves, Hawaiian black sea salt, and Sage that I could burn.

I walked in my apartment, threw all my bags down, and began the set up.
I am always excited about finding ways to alleviate stress in a natural way. Now everyone is different and some of you may be allergic to what I used or other essential oils, leaves, salts etc. The best thing to do is to test it out using a small bowl. Place one finger…not two (LOL) in the bowl and take your finger out and wait to see if you get a reaction before immersing your whole body in a bath. You may also want to call your doctor up and get a second opinion.

Setting Up:

• After I ran the bath I added the lavender leaves (about half the pack) and added two tablespoons of the Hawaiian sea salt. I mixed everything up with my hand.

• I put the sage bundle in a tin can and lit it like incense and blew it out after a second.

• I didn’t have any music because this whole experience is about unwinding, clarity, and stillness.

• After my set up, I went and sat in the middle of my floor and started taking slow deep breaths for a good 10 minutes before taking the bath.

Sage is an herb that has many therapeutic benefits and is actively used in holistic medicine. Sage has also been found to benefit the neurological system. Sage tea has been found to help women with PMS and digestive problems.

Lavender, also known as Lavandula angustifolia has been used to treat digestive problems, insomnia, anxiety, and restlessness.

PS. I took one of my left over leaves and sat it on my dresser…I figured it would help me remain calm when I come home.

Hawaiian Sea Salt has calcium, potassium, and magnesium.
Magnesium is important for combating stress and calming the nervous system. Calcium can prevent water retention and can also strengthen bones and nails. Potassium gives the body energy.

After the bath I felt relaxed and my skin felt very soft…I am going to try to do this at least once a month.

xoxo
Ally
