So after watching Beyonce and Lady gaga dropping it like its hot in “video phone” I did notice one thing and only one thing I liked about the video and it was Beyonce’s winged or cat eye liner. Although it was super bold and most people wouldn’t wear it out I adore it.
Bold liner is perfect for when you need to add a little spice to your look. It can take you from feeling blah to sexy and fab in minutes!!
Cat eye makeup is all about your eyeliner. Creating cat eyes with makeup will require concentration and lots of patience. So if you are just starting to play around with liner you may want to start with a regular pencil until you can graduate to a liquid liner which will give you that painted perfect look.
Depending on the look of the night you are going for you can choose from a sharp and pointed, to fat and smudgy.
Ingredients
Ø A black eyeliner pencil or liquid liner
Ø A black eyeliner brush
Ø An eye shadow brush
Ø Dark eye shadow
Ø Black mascara
Step 1
Make sure you have access to a clear mirror in a room with lots of light.
Step 2
You will need a thin angled brush and black pot eyeliner or liquid liner with a short tip. Keeping your eye open begin by dotting along the root of the eyelashes starting at the inner eye and working your way outwards. Next make a thick line on your top lid only over the dotted line you just created and slowly drag toward the outer corner of your eye. How far you draw the line outwards all depends on how long or exaggerated you want your cat eye to be. Make sure the line is thickest at the outer corner of the eye. Just focus on creating a good line because you can make it thick later.
Step 3
Remember you should follow the natural curve of the eye. Begin to slant the line up where your pupil ends.
Step 4
Next use your eye shadow brush to apply the dark eye shadow over the smudged eyeliner line if you want to make the look a little more dramatic.
Step 5
Now take a look at your work. If the wings are uneven you can use a pointed q-tip to fix it. Or if you would prefer a fatter line all you have to do is retrace your steps.
Step 6
Use your favorite mascara to finish it off.
