She is Uplifting

Hey Fam,

I am so well rested today. I actually went to bed at midnight last night. Woke up at 8am today and even took a little nap….I sooooo needed the rest. So lately (within the past 4 mos) I have been thinking about my life and the direction my career is going. And the other day it hit me just to ask myself the simple question that I always tell other people to ask.

I said to myself, if I HAD to pick something to do everyday and do that same thing for the rest of my life what would it be…

Hmmm….

I thought about it and then I realized that the mistake I had made in the past was that I guess I subconsciously included other factors/people in that answer. For example in that answer would always be a little bit of what I thought family/friends and society expected of me and maybe even what I “thought” I expected of myself based on some of those factors.

So I started to peel back the layers in my mind. And I forgot about society or what people think that I should do.

So after peeling it all back the answer is two fold. If I had to choose something to do for the rest of my life every single day it would be to wake up and:

1.    Help people in some capacity
2.    Be Creative-painting, jewelry making, designing clothes, coming up with creative concepts etc

That’s what I want to do everyday and in many ways I do some of that now. However I think I have lost it a little in the creative dept. I have fallen back a little with designing my jewels (b/c of my schedule).

Creativity is such an important release for me and when I don’t have it, I get a slight tude more often than needed LOL.

To remedy the lack of creativity in my life I have decided to go full force with my first art collection. I know what your thinking—this girl and her gazillion projects.
But I have been working on my first piece for a few months now.

So this is how it started. When I pray/meditate/have quiet time, after I am finished I want to draw. So I started drawing and adding these images drawn on just regular paper to my wall. After putting up the fifteenth photo, something told me to turn these pictures (that are so special to me) into art and to do an art show. So the pic above is my first piece. I love her!!!
