Hey Lovelies!
Ok so the weather is gorgeous in NY! It is starting to get a little chilly some days but this is when the weather is just right…not too sweltering (like it was) and not freezing. So when the colder months start to roll in, I let my natural hair styles go and wear my hair straight. I love my bushy hair but I have dealt with it all summer and need a serious break. So about two weeks ago I attempted to straighten it with my Fusion Tools flat iron that I always rant and rave about and for some reason it wouldn’t get that hot…probably overuse I guess lol.
Well I was a little sad but decided to try out a new iron…something that I haven’t done in like two years. I was skeptical but tried anyways. This Andis iron got my hair bone straight and it feels silky soft. A day after I straightened it I decided to go to the gym and risk messing it all up. I have to go to the gym every other day now. Anyways I went and tied my scarf on me edges really tight. After sweating and working out for about an hour and then sitting in the sauna for 30 minutes I just knew in my head all my hours of straightening had been shot. When I got home and took off my scarf IT WAS STILL BONE STRAIGHT. I am still actually in shock. I really don’t get it…it’s like magic LOL but I’m happy. The only thing I can attribute it to is this flat iron. I didn’t use any special styling products and I don’t have a perm but I will definitely be using the iron from now on…

I love my andis flat iron too! Its inexpensive and it gets the job done! I see you colored your hair, very nice. Im next. =)

Did you cut your hair Ms. Ally Marie? I’m impressed that you were able to sit in a sauna for 30 minutes and your hair still be straight!

@kee Yes girl I had to cut it because my ends were a mess and I am still in disbelief about my roots still being straight. Maybe its because I had just straightened it…who knows
@Amber Its somewhere in the golden shade family. I feel like he said it was one shade darker than honey blonde. The guy who did it is Johnny Gentry in Harlem

I think i want a light sandy brown or maybe a drk blonde hue. The only thing holding me back is the breakage….

Thanks Ally, it’s very pretty on you. I’m gonna have to get mine like that, but I live way over here in California, unless I make a trip to Harlem, lol

You know….I will say that I did have dryness from my color but I think one of the main reasons is because I didn’t keep going to the hair dresser for conditioning treatments and didn’t do them at home. I probably would have had less dryness if I had taken care of it the right way. I am probably someone that shouldn’t have color because I actually never follow through with conditioning lol. If you do get it send me a pic of your color
