MAKEUP FOR SPECIAL OCCASIONS
Every woman wants to look best in a special event in her life. It may be a prom, wedding day, first ever date, or whatever event that makes her special. She can choose from a natural look to a glamorous one depending on what area of her face she wants to emphasize.
It is advisable to put on a long lasting makeup. A primer is essential to getting make up to last. Apply to a moisturized face and then apply your foundation or concealer or tinted moisturizer as normal. Using a very light moisturizer and allowing it to soak in for 10-15 first is helpful too. A primer evens out your skin, helps absorbs excess oil on oily/combo skins and adds an extra layer of moisture on dry skins that stops your foundation soaking in and discoloring. A good pressed powder is great on drier skins as it takes the sheen of products off without looking cakey. But don’t keep packing powder on if you are prone to shine. Use oil blotting tissues instead. Just press and roll on shiny areas and it sucks the sheen up like a kitchen towel without disturbing your make up. They also come in a tiny packet compared to a powder compact and brush.Remembering not to touch the face too often and keeping the hair off your face will help too.
Most women want to emphasize their eyes. The smoky eye makeup is the simplest yet the best one can have for a special occasion. Considering a wedding day, it is best to use a color that complements with the motif of the wedding. For other occasions, aside from the smoky look an eye of complementing colors with the dress is also good. Just take note that use a nude lip makeup when you plan of emphasizing your eyes. For emphasizing the lips, make use of warm red shades then use a lighter eye makeup. The cheeks are usually of a natural color, pink and brown shades.
Before the special day, set a date when you could practice on the right makeup for the occasion. Try taking photos so that you could test if the makeup looks good on picture since special events have lots of picture taking. Give yourself a time to shine and feel great on that special day.
