The Beauty Verdict
Hey She-Blogs Readers!
I hope all is well! So as Spring and Summer are approaching we’re all getting prepped for what I like to refer to as bikini weather! If you’re like me you have some stretch marks here and there. Many people think they only come from weight gain, weight loss or child birth. That’s so not true because if it were I wouldn’t have them. For as long as I can remember I’ve had the little annoying lines on my chest and the sides of my hips. A few months ago I was researching some beauty products for Allyson and I stumbled upon this stuff called Mederma. People were ranting and raving about it like it was some kind of magic potion so I had to check it out for myself. My new friend Lauren who works for Mederma sent me some samples in the mail to try! I love beauty products and I adore them when they’re free so I was so excited! Check out my review!
HOW IT WORKS . . .
Mederma Stretch Mark Therapy is a cream/lotion consistency that comes in a decent sized blueish-greenish tube. As with most beauty products, this is not a perfect cure all but it does a pretty good job. It’s written on the back of the tube that it improves the appearance of stretch marks, meaning it may not completely vanish them. You apply it twice a day for the best results over a period of 12 weeks. Improvement though is visible about 4 weeks in. I applied mine every morning when I got out of the shower and every night before I hopped in bed. Put it somewhere where you’ll remember to use it. I kept mine on a counter with all my other lotions and potions so that I would see it and not forget.
THE PROS . . .
Okay so there are some pretty good perks that come along with Mederma Stretch Mark Therapy. For one, it’s a lightweight consistency. I hate those super thick, gunky products that weigh your skin down and clog your pores. What I particularly like about the product is that you actually see the results over time. I can honestly say that after about 4 or 5 weeks I noticed that my stretch marks were getting lighter. I also loved the way it made my skin feel. It left it feeling really soft and silky.
THE CONS . . .
As I stated earlier it’s not a perfect cure all but as expected. It does drastically diminish the appearance but it does not rid them 100%. I also noticed that it does not work as well on the areas that are more intense. The stretch marks on my chest were a lot lighter to begin with and now they’re pretty much invisible unless you’re like staring with a magnifying glass. On the side of my hips, however, they’re still visible. I can say though that they are not as visible as they were prior to me using the cream. My guess is that it works best in minor instances. So if you’ve lost 50 pounds and birthed 5 kids, don’t expect anything miraculous. It’s simply an aid in decreasing the appearance; it’s not magic.
THE RESULTS . . .
Overall I was satisfied with my results. I went into it with a realistic mindset and therefore I was not disappointed. It does just as advertised, improves the appearance of stretch marks. My stretch marks were flat and not protruding or raised, as often the case with child birth, so I cannot testify to what the results would be in instances as such. I know that for flat, minor stretch marks the results are significantly noticeable.
WILL I BUY IT AGAIN?
Most certainly I will buy it again though I probably won’t need to because Lauren sent me 3 tubes! Lol. I’m all for purchasing products that actually work and live up to their promises. I also recommend it for all you beach babes out there. It’s April now so you have enough time to start using the product and noticing some results!
