CAD/CAM Midterm Task Report
The goal of this task was to support students know more about a program created by the company Siemens named NX, specifically versions almost 8. 0 and 8. five. Somewhat exactly like the program SolidWORKS, NX allows the user to produce sketches of simple and intricate objects, and then create a 3-D model of the object. Also, a great assembly of such models could be made by assigning constraints to produce an overall THREE DIMENSIONAL assembly style. This job was made to apply NX to be able to create a great assembly model of a amusing, made of six different parts: The Bearing, The Board, The Bushing, The text, The The whole length, and The Steering wheel. Some parts were much easier than others, such as the Shaft, which only required a sketch of your circle to get extruded to a certain length. Other folks required much more commands, including the Connection as well as the Bearing, which in turn required a sweep and many other constraints. Prior to the project was assigned, students were given many homework tasks that needed them to create a part applying NX, which will didn't need many commands. Over time, these types of assignments became more and more demanding, requiring increasingly more commands. Following these parts were modeled, students were taught the right way to create a great assembly using the parts modeled, which use limitations to keep all of them together just like Concentric, Touch Align, and Center. To be able to model the 6 parts of the Skateboard Assembly, pupils were given IGS files being a reference. These files allowed students to spread out them in NX and use the Creating environment to infer measurements to reconstruct the part on their own. Dimensions in the sketches were the most important, in particular when putting the board collectively, as sizes that were not really proportional to one another could cause a mistake in the assembly environment when ever assigning limitations.
The subsequent parts were chosen for the overall amusing assembly: The Bearing, The Board, The Bushing, The Connection, The The whole length, and The Wheel. The Panel is the main portion of the assembly, that the rest of the parts are built best down. On the bottom of the panel, the cable connections are placed in line with the holes and mounted on the enjoyment. The connection permits the Bearing and the Bushing to be include in the assembly. After the connection is at place, the bushing is positioned into the suitable space, in which it retains the bearing at a horizontal viewpoint. The Bearing is then placed into the opposite space of the interconnection, where it truly is inserted before the bottom in the bearing can be touching the bushing. The Bearing permits the Base to be put into place. When the bearing is put into place, the base is inserted making the other ends equidistant from the center of the bearing. By making the centers from the Bearing and the Shaft in-line with each other, the wheels are put at an equal distance, that enables for action of the Table, completing mount of the Pleasure.
Solid CAD Model
To begin the enjoyment, the top half the sketch (above the XC axis) was developed, and then mirrored across the XC axis, shown in Number 1a. The Concentric application was used to make sure the groups shown had been of similar radius, and a rectangle (not shown) was attracted to ensure the distances had been correct.
Following your sketch is made, it is then simply extruded into a depth of 0. a few inches. Zero Boolean operation is necessary because the board will be extruded out of the sketch. It is vital that there is no misaligned lines or perhaps open areas in your sketch, as it will make the design unable to extrude.
To start off the bushing component, a thoroughly constrained sketch was made in the X-Y planes as proven in Number 1a.
After producing the drawing, the center too was used to center the sketch using the Y-Plane as the Centerline axis, and it had been revolved 360 degrees as proven above in Figure 1b....
