Senior Citizen Interview
In today's world, we have a very large demographical switch in population. This is especially true intended for the U. S. due to baby rate of growth from WWII. And because of the demographical move there are old adults inside our midst. In the event today's world just took the time to sit and tune in to our older generation then they would realize what they have to offer. For this week's job, I had the privilege of sitting down with my neighbor to query her about her aging process. For 1 hour, I asked my neighbor about her personal lifestyle, family, close friends, interest, and activities. The interview was amusing and informative. It gave wonderful insight into the world of a senior citizen. My neighbor did give me permission to use her first name in this assignment, and she will become referred to as Karen. In the next pursuing sections, Let me discuss virtually any notable and surprising factors from my personal interview with Maria. Plus, I will go over Maria's overall functioning for her age group. And at the end of this conventional paper I will talk about what I have discovered from this interview with Karen. Notable and Surprising Elements from the Interview
While executing the interview, I was amazed by Maria's openness to indulge me with her life experience. She was very open and willing to share me virtually anything about her life. And Maria was very in touch and aware of everything that was going. Plus, she surely could recall previous events that occurred years back. I found this all to be very surprising since I had a preprogrammed notion that the lady should have recently been responding in a different way to my questions. This perceived notion is largely because of our understanding of gerontology and ageism (Berger, 2011). By a young age, we are all trained that older people are slower, forgetful, fragile and want extra focus because depressive disorder is very normal with older people. I found non-e of the to be the case with Helen. She was very happy with her lifestyle, and your woman had a great deal going for her. Plus, she was extremely open with the fact that her husband and her both of us still sexually active. Once again, I was very surprised with her review because the sexual acts does decrease with age group (Berger, 2011). Maria showed no signs of stopping or perhaps changing her lifestyle because of age. The society is incredibly big on telling the elderly that they need to take it easy and be mindful of exercise because their particular bodies happen to be weakening. This may be true for a few people who have weak immune systems and bone fragments, but it is definitely not true for all those. Overall Functioning of Participator
After listening to Maria relay the events from her earlier and present, I figured she has effectively aged. Maria has stayed at very lively through her senior years and doesn't demonstrate any indications of stopping. She is in very good standings both mentally and physically. And she lives a productive life with her hubby of forty seven years. They will both head to salsa classes and NASCAR races during NASCAR period. Plus, Karen is constantly socializing with friends and family through means of bingo and family members functions. For instance , Maria offers weekly Saturday night dishes with her children and grandkids. Plus, her grandkids are frequently visiting her. This type of support is incredibly positive in Maria's aging process. According to Berger, becoming surrounded by mental support from one's kids is better than getting supported fiscally (2011). In addition, much of Maria's activities help her with her aging process. For instance, to keep her brain active she reads and stays in tune with current events. As well as, I see zero social issues for Maria because the girl with very included in her family and community. This is certainly displayed by her volunteer work at her local elementary school. Furthermore, Nancy is still capable of transport very little using generating. This type of ability displays wonderful mental and physical wellness for her age bracket...
